As a maritime player with a global presence at sea and onshore, we recognize our social, environmental, and ethical responsibility.
We strive for responsible business practices and promote sustainability throughout our network. Committed to the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), we set measurable goals in areas where we can make a significant impact.
Our goals are focused on diversity, safety, reducing emissions, and fighting corruption – Clipper is an active member of the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN).
At Clipper Bulk, our working culture is built on empowerment, responsibility and continuous growth from day one.
We believe that a sustainable workplace depends on a strong commitment to both physical and mental well-being.
That’s why we support our people through a range of health-focused initiatives and programs, fostering a healthy work-life balance and a culture where care and support are part of everyday life.
We also recognize flexibility as a key element of modern working life, helping our employees balance professional ambitions with personal needs.
Continuous learning and development is at the core of how we grow. We promote individual and team growth through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for both personal and professional advancement.
Clipper Group maintains a precautionary approach to the environment and continuously invests in intelligent shipping technology to improve our environmental and financial performance.
An essential aspect of our responsibility is to decrease our vessels’ greenhouse gas emissions. To be responsible, we have therefore established a Decarbonisation plan describing our intended pathway to net zero emissions. Read more about the Decarbonisation Strategy here.
One area in which we can have a lasting positive effect on our operational climate impact is by improving the sustainability performance of our steel-loading shipments.
We are helping the environment to find innovative solutions with recycled and reusable rubber as dunnage for the steel instead of heated wood dunnage, which must be disposed of after just one shipment – We call it Greenbars.
As an international shipping company, Clipper operates in regions where global trade exposes our vessels to corrupt and illegal practices.
Given the significant high risk of bribery and corruption, we at Clipper are acutely aware of the challenges associated with such misconduct.
Our stance is zero tolerance towards traditional bribery, and we actively collaborate with the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network to combat facilitation payments.
At Clipper, all employees receive anti-corruption training, ensuring a strong foundation in ethical business practices. This training is an integral part of our onboarding process and is continuously upheld as new colleagues join the company.
At Clipper, we value diversity as a driver of innovation and growth, and we’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.
We actively work to reach all qualified candidates by applying diversity awareness in our recruitment and job ads, aiming to remove barriers and ensure broad visibility.
We hire through a bias-free process to provide equal opportunities, always selecting the right person for the job based on skills and potential—regardless of gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, race, or political views.
